Estaba angustiada por un c\u00e1ncer de mama que la consum\u00eda lentamente desde hac\u00eda tiempo.<\/h3>\n<p>Hab\u00eda especulado con el suicidio, e incluso hab\u00eda intercambiado correspondencia con su antiguo amante, Horacio Quiroga, sobre la decisi\u00f3n de poner fin a la vida.<\/p>\n<p>Ese mismo d\u00eda Alfonsina se arroj\u00f3 al mar y su cad\u00e1ver fue devuelto por la marea. En la habitaci\u00f3n del hotel en el que se alojaba en Mar del Plata, se encontr\u00f3 una nota en la que escuetamente escribi\u00f3: \u00abVoy a dormir\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>Poco antes, escribi\u00f3 su \u00faltima carta a su hijo Alejandro: \u00abSu\u00e9\u00f1ame, que me hace falta.
